Judith Ann (Miles) Schellenberg

Judith Ann (Miles) Schellenberg of Mesquite, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 23, 2026, at the age of 86. Judy was born on November 16, 1939, in Lawrenceville, Illinois to Carl Eugene Miles and Josephine Elizabeth (Lisman) Miles.

As a child, Judy's family relocated to Texas where her father was in the oil business. The oldest of seven children, Judy graduated from high school in Abilene, TX and was a 1961 graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX with a Bachelor of Business Administration. She married on January 8, 1962, and raised three daughters: Mary Jo, Karen, and Patricia (Tricia). She worked for, and retired from, the State of Texas Workforce Commission.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her favorite times were those spent with her family. In her later years she was able to spend quality time with her three great grandchildren, which was a blessing to both her and the children. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and loved to make special gifts for her family and friends.

Survivors

Judy is survived by her daughters, Mary Jo Boynton (Leander, TX), Karen Felts and husband Kyle (Mesquite, TX), Tricia Wilkins and husband Eric (Albuquerque, NM); grandchildren, Cathan and Elena Wilkins, Ragan Osteen and husband James, Benjamin Felts and husband Aaron Ridge; grand-dogs, Bubba and Sadie; great grandchildren Elijah, Hanna, and Levi Osteen; siblings Carla Butler (Austin, TX) Nancy R Miles, (Eugene, OR), J.D. Miles (Springfield, MO), Brenda Vincent (Tyler, TX), Sara Prina (Abilene, TX).

Preceded in Death

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Charles Miles.

Remembrance

Judy will be remembered for her easy-going nature, artistic abilities, great cooking, and deep love for her family.
